The Crawl.

Spirit of the West sang about it, we're going to run it.


Date: Saturday, January 16, 2010
Time: 11:00am - 11:00pm
Location: From the Troller to the Raven, with all stops in between.

Drinkers and Carousers, the likes you've never seen

So went the ditty that we've all howled out at the pub since Spirit of the West first performed it in...well I don't exactly remember because I was likely pissed at the time...

So here's the plan:

a) We meet at the Troller in Horseshoe Bay at opening time (11am).
b) We have a pint.
c) we run 9.3 miles (15,5 Km) to the Square Rigger Pub.
d) we have a pint.
e) We run 3/4 mile (1.2 Km) to the Village Taphouse (because the Park Royal Hotel closed in 2004)....and have a pint.

is there a pattern emerging here? Fine.

f) 4.2 miles (7Km) to the Queen's Cross,
g) back down the hill for 1 1/2 miles (2.2 Km) to the Rusty Gull, then
h) 6 1/2 miles (10.2 Km) to the Raven.

j) Figure out how the hell we're getting home.

It's 22 miles, so think of it as a 'Beerathon'...

Required kit: Reflective vest or jacket (we'll be running on the shoulder for the first leg), smallpack containing fleece jumper and toque for cool-down, couple of powerbars, water bottle, money for 5 pints plus cost of lunch enroute.

Kilts ( I have loaners for the kiltless)
